The 1216 is a medium duty landing craft with a 1m83 wide bow door. The cabin is not included in the design but can be added to customers’ requirements. The stern can be either sloped or square shaped.
The design has a self bailing deck and build-in fuel tanks with a capacity of appr 850 litres, which can be modified to compensate any specific loading characteristics depending on the type of application and usage. Her construction is a combination of longitudinal and transverse framing and designed in accordance with CE-category C (inland waters).
The designed maximum payload, subject to centre of gravity, height and weight distribution, as well as operating conditions, is 3,600 kg.
The hull has excellent handling characteristics even at higher speeds. Sea trials with cruising speeds of 35 kn were achieved with twin Honda 225 hp outboards at 3000 rpm in unloaded conditions. This design can also be modified for (twin) waterjet propulsion or I/O boards (Z-drives).
The kit has been modified by Bruce Roberts Europe bv to comply with the European codes and rules, as well as production standards. The Bruce Roberts Europe pre-cut building kit consists of extremely accurate cut parts from first class marine grade aluminium, including precision markings, the pre-forming of all parts and all profiles (extrusions) as used in the hulls construction.
The standard kit comprises all parts for the hull including fuel tank and ramp, including bow door hinges, but excludes a cabin, which can be added to customer’s requirement as optional extra. A comprehensive set of assembly drawings and step by step instructions accompany each kit, ensuring efficient and fast assembly of this boat.
